What to pack for a luxury teahouse trek

Pack light: your porter carries up to 10 kg, and our lodges provide duvets, hot showers and charging. Bring layers, broken-in boots and a good down jacket.

Why it matters on the trail

Our guides get asked about what to pack for a luxury teahouse trek on almost every departure. Here is what we have learned across hundreds of trail days in the Himalaya, and how it shapes the way we plan each journey.

What we recommend

Plan early, keep your days unhurried, and lean on your guide’s local knowledge. The best moments on a trek usually come from the extra hour you allowed yourself, not the extra kilometre.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need prior trekking experience?

No prior Himalayan experience is needed. Good fitness and a willingness to walk 5–7 hours a day are enough for most of our journeys.

The down jacket tip saved me at Thorong La. Worth every gram.
