About Explovita

Himalayan journeys, crafted by locals

Explovita is a Kathmandu-based expedition company. Our guides were born below the peaks they lead you to, and every itinerary is built around acclimatisation, comfort and the people who call the mountains home.

Our story

Explovita began in 2012 with two Sherpa guides and one promise: to run the Himalayan trips we would want to take ourselves. Small groups, the best lodges on every route and no summit pressure.

Today our team of certified guides, porters and trip designers has led more than 2,400 travellers across Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. We still design every journey by hand, and we still pay our porters above the industry minimum, with full insurance and proper equipment.

What we stand for

Safety first, always

Pulse oximeter checks every evening, helicopter evacuation included and a clear descent protocol. The mountain decides, never the itinerary.

Local guides, fairly paid

Every guide and porter is from the Himalaya, insured, equipped and paid above the IPPG minimum wage.

Travel that gives back

We offset 150% of trip emissions, carry out our waste and fund schools and health posts in the villages we walk through.

Meet the team

The people who plan your trip, answer your questions and walk beside you on the trail.
